by Joe Mask | Published March 11, 2015

During the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, a group of ranchers from Nicaragua took the opportunity to visit several Beefmaster producers and learn about their operations.  The cattlemen participating in the tour expressed an interest in purchasing Beefmaster genetics from the United States to use in their home country.  Beefmaster Breeders United (BBU) members that hosted these guests included:

  • Double D Bar Ranch, Doyle & Dorothy Sanders
  • Larry Meachem
  • Danny and Emily Feland
  • Collier Farms, Mike and Rhonda Collier
  • Sexing Technologies Genetic Development Center

The 12 Nicaraguan visitors got the opportunity to visit with BBU President Mackie Bounds and his wife Norma Jean while touring the Genetic Development Center.  They also got to experience the fun and excitement of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR), including the Beefmaster events held in conjunction with the HLSR.
