Membership Renewal Reminder
It’s time to renew your Beefmaster Breeders United membership! We encourage you to renew your membership online at www.beefmasters.org. Please note that all active, associate, and junior memberships are renewable every January, except for Lifetime members and NEW members that have joined since October 1, 2021. Memberships can also be renewed via mail, if you wish to renew through the mail and send a check, please include your membership number AND name to ensure the funds are applied correctly.
Active/Associate Member Dues
  • $125 – if paid by Jan. 31, 2022
  • $135 – if paid by Feb. 28, 2022
  • $145 – if paid by March 31, 2022
  • $250 – reinstatement after March 31, 2022
Junior Member Dues
  • $60 – if paid by Jan. 31, 2022
  • $70 – if paid by Feb. 28, 2022
  • $80 – if paid by March 31, 2022
  • $120 – reinstatement after March 31, 2022

Join BBU satellite organizations!
Make sure to join or renew your membership with your local satellite organizations today! You must be a member of a BBU satellite organization to consign cattle to satellite sales. To pay for your membership, you can clip the coupons shown on pg. 21 of this month’s issue of The Beefmaster Cowman and then send the amount shown to each satellite you wish to join. Live Oak BBA is Seeking Nominations for their Spring 2022 Sale!

Live Oak BBA Bull Development Program
The 2022-2023 Live Oak BBA Bull Development Program will be conducted at: LANDAIR, INC., 2050 Brown Ranch Lane – Beeville, Texas 78102. ALL BULLS MUST BE IN PLACE BY JANUARY 25, 2022!
Anyone planning to consign bulls to the 2023 LOBBA Bull Sale MUST participate in this program.
Bull eligibility:
• Ages September 15, 2020 through April 30, 2021
• (Fall group: 9-15-20 through 12-31-2020; Spring group: 1-1-21 through 4-30-21)

JBBA Hospitality Room at Ft. Worth Stock Show
There will be a JBBA Hospitality Room and a JBBA Board Meeting held during the Fort Worth Stock Show. All JBBA members are welcome to attend and you can even bring along friends who are not JBBA members, but may be interested in joining or learning more about the program! The JBBA Board of Directors meeting will be held at 2:00pm and will be followed by the hospitality room at approximately 3:00pm!
When? Friday, January 21 at 2:00pm
Where? Cactus Room – located across from Ft. Worth Stock Show Offices
JBBA Gun Raffle Tickets on Sale
The JBBA is currently selling gun raffle tickets to help support the 2022 National Show and Convention. All junior board members and ambassadors will be selling tickets. The raffle tickets are $40 each for a chance to win 40 different prizes in 40 days! Drawing starts April 4, 2022. If you have any questions, please contact Darrell Glaser at 254-721-1497.
JBBA National Show and Convention
The 2022 Junior Beefmaster Breeders Association National Show and Convention will be held July 16-21, 2022 in Belton, Texas. We’re looking forward to a great week with our Beefmaster Family and hope to see you there!
WHR & IBR News
The 2022 WHR (Whole Herd Reporting) and IBR (Inventory Based Reporting) inventories are available online to participating members. Be on the lookout for your inventories in your online BBU account.
The IBR inventories must be completed and posted online by February 1, 2022. An additional $5 per head will be assessed for the IBR inventories posted online after February 1, 2022.
The WHR inventories must be completed and posted online by May 1, 2022. An additional $5 per head will be assessed for the WHR inventories posted online after May 1, 2022.
Please note if you are participating in a spring 2022 sale, your WHR or IBR inventory needs to be updated and returned prior to registering any animals born in 2022. BBU members who are interested in enrolling in the WHR or IBR programs, but are not currently participating, please contact the BBU office at 210-732-3132 or jnovak@beefmasters.org.

Sign up for Online Access!
We encourage you to sign up for the BBU Online Registry System. Having online access to your BBU account will allow you to register animals online, view your billing information, transfer AI certificates, view your animal inventory, give natural breeding agreements, enter weaning/yearling weights and so much more! Before you can login you must have a temporary password. To receive your temporary password, please email Donna your name and membership number at dhenderson@beefmasters.org. You must submit request by email. If you call the office the staff will direct you to send an email.
Plan for the Future with EPDs
EPDs are a great tool to be utilizing in your herd. They can be a building block to take the foundation of your herd to the next level. Lance Bauer, Director of Breed Improvement & Western Field Representative shares that “It is important to realize that EPDs are the best genetic selection tool that is available.” Lance also states that “EPDs are the most accurate tool that we have for genetic selection of animals.”
