Happy Thanksgiving from Beefmaster!
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and we hope you enjoy the holiday season! The BBU office will be closed November 26-27, 2020 for the Thanksgiving holiday, to allow the staff time to celebrate with their family and friends.




BBU Online Auction

The items that are typically auctioned off during our Annual Convention will be sold via our Online Auction happening December 8th and 9th at www.BuyBeefmasters.com. You can preview the items NOW!! You’ll get the chance to make these items yours, while also helping support the Beefmaster Breeders Cattlewomen, the Junior Beefmaster Breeders Association and the Beefmaster Educational Endowment Foundation. Bidding starts Tuesday, December 8 at 7:00am CST and the auction closes on Wednesday, December 9 at 7:00pm CST. You must be a registered user in order to bid.

Beefmaster Caps Make Great Christmas Gifts!

We have several different styles of caps for sale and if you order before December 15, we can get the caps shipped to you before Christmas! The caps cost $20 each plus shipping. NEW RULES!! Coming January 1, 2021

As a reminder, we have new rule changes that will be in effect starting January 1, 2021.
– All embryo calves will have to be genotyped prior to registration (parent verification (PV) is NOT required)- which means they must first get a P# to be genotyped.
– Every AI calf registered will require an AI certificate to register.
– Every embryo calf (without embryos recorded in your BBU inventory) will require an AI certificate to register.

Carcass Ultrasound Scan Field Day

The Live Oak Beefmaster Breeders Association, along with Melvin Scherer of V-Seven Beefmasters and 7C Anderson Cattle Co., would like to invite you to bring your cattle for carcass ultrasound scanning and weight collection on Monday, November 30, 2020 starting at 9:00 am at 1495 Moritz Road, Meyersville, Texas.

Membership Renewal Reminders

It’s time to renew your Beefmaster Breeders United membership! We encourage you to renew your membership online at www.beefmasters.org. Please note that all active, associate and junior memberships are renewable every January, except for Lifetime members and NEW members that have joined since October 1, 2020. Memberships can also be renewed via mail, if you wish to renew through the mail and send a check, please include your membership number AND name to ensure the funds are applied correctly.

Active/Associate Member Dues
$125 – if paid by Jan. 31, 2021
$135 – if paid by Feb. 28, 2021
$145 – if paid by March 31, 2021
$250 – reinstatement after March 31, 2021

Junior Member Dues
$60 – if paid by Jan. 31, 2021
$70 – if paid by Feb. 29, 2021
$80 – if paid by March 31, 2021
$120 – reinstatement after March 31, 2021

Next Genetic Evaluation Run

We will be running the next Beefmaster breed genetic evaluation in early 2021. In order for animals to be included in this genetic evaluation, our office must have the animal’s performance data and registration application submitted by December 10th. Please contact the BBU office at 210-732-3132 if you have any questions.




Animal Name Change FAQ

To change a name on an animal, the office must receive written permission from the Breeder-Member-First Owner that is listed on the Certificate of Breeding in order to make the name change. Our rules state, that an animal has a name if there is anything listed in the “Named” section of the certificate, this includes an ID number. The fee to change an animal name for an animal with NO PROGENY is $20. The fee to change an animal name for an animal WITH PROGENY is $100. In preparation for the 2021 BBU Membership Directory, please contact the BBU office if you have any changes or updates to make to your membership listing.
