Boerne, Texas – Beefmaster Breeders United (BBU) is proud to announce that Dusty Pendergrass of Bryan, Texas, has joined the BBU staff as the Eastern Field Representative. Pendergrass will provide field assistance to Beefmaster breeders and commercial beef producers that are located east of Interstate-45 in Texas, as well as Oklahoma and all states to the east. Lance Bauer will continue to serve as the Western Field Representative/Commercial Marketing Director and will continue to cover all areas west of Interstate-45 in Texas and west of Oklahoma.
Dusty Pendergrass will provide ranch consultation services to members, as well as guidance through the Pro Services program. BBU members who utilize Pro Services will receive a ranch visit from a field representative twice a year for a one-on-one consultation and assistance with the most complicated aspect of the purebred industry: record keeping. Through Pro Services, Dusty Pendergrass will assist participating members in updating their herd inventory, registering calves and entering performance data. His responsibilities will also include promoting and supplying support for other BBU programs, while also encouraging breeder education and improving breeding plans.
Pendergrass grew up in Bryan/College Station, Texas, and graduated from Texas A&M University in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science and a minor in agronomy. Pendergrass joins the BBU staff after most recently working for Irsik and Doll Feedyard in Garden City, Kan. Prior to supervising the feedyard department members at Irsik and Doll, he worked in the Texas A&M Animal Science Department where he administered animal health protocols in feedlot, stocker, and cow-calf research herds. His other work experience is comprised of working for Turner Crop Consulting in Hearne, Texas and managing sales at Outfront Cattle Services in College Station, Texas.
“Dusty will provide our association with a wealth of knowledge in the realm of cattle herd management and assisting our membership in Pro Services consultation,” said BBU Chief Financial Officer Collin Osbourn. “Dusty is part of an exceptional family and has the same strong work ethic as his father Bill Pendergrass, we are lucky to have him as part of the team.”
